Happy Play House

Terms & Conditions

Last updated:

Welcome to Happy Play House. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the use of our website, bookings, purchases, memberships, activities, events, birthday parties, and visits to Happy Play House.

Happy Play House is located at 137 Chadwick Court, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

By making a booking or purchase, entering our facility, participating in an activity, or using our website, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms, as applicable.

1. General Admission & Play

Happy Play House is an indoor children’s play and activity facility primarily designed for children approximately 1 to 7 years of age.

Admission is subject to availability, operating hours, facility capacity, and applicable safety requirements.

Children must be supervised by a responsible parent, guardian, or supervising adult at all times unless a specific supervised program expressly states otherwise.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for the behaviour, safety, and supervision of the children in their care.

For safety and hygiene reasons, socks are required in designated play areas. Happy Play House may require specific types of socks or other safety measures where appropriate.

Admission and play time are valid only for the duration purchased. Additional time may require an additional payment and is subject to availability and facility capacity.

2. Bookings & Walk-Ins

Customers may book eligible services online through our website or designated booking platform.

Walk-ins may be accepted where space is available; however, availability is not guaranteed.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended, particularly for weekends, holidays, birthday parties, special events, and busy periods.

A booking is not considered confirmed until any required payment or deposit has been successfully received and a booking confirmation has been issued.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the information provided during booking, including contact information, date, time, number of children, and selected service, is accurate.

3. Prices, Taxes & Payment

All prices are displayed in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.

Applicable taxes will be added where required by law.

Prices, packages, promotions, and service offerings may change from time to time. Any change will not affect a previously confirmed booking unless the customer requests a modification that results in additional charges.

Online payments may be processed through third-party payment providers. Happy Play House does not control the independent terms, systems, or security practices of those payment providers.

4. Play Passes

Play passes are valid for the duration and service selected at the time of purchase.

Play time begins according to the booked or admitted session and may not be extended because of late arrival.

Customers who wish to stay longer may purchase additional time where available.

Promotional or discounted passes may have separate restrictions and may not be combined with other promotions unless expressly stated.

5. Birthday Parties & Private Events

Birthday party and private event bookings are subject to the package description and inclusions displayed at the time of booking.

Unless otherwise specified in the selected package, birthday packages include the number of children stated in the booking description.

Additional children may be subject to an additional per-child fee and are subject to the facility’s permitted capacity.

The customer making the reservation is responsible for providing an accurate expected guest count and informing Happy Play House of material changes before the event.

Any additional services, including but not limited to decorations, entertainment, face painting, food, photography, additional activities, extra play time, slime activities, Build-a-Stuffy products, or other add-ons, are included only when specifically stated in the selected package or separately purchased.

6. Party Arrival, Set-Up & Departure

Customers must follow the arrival, set-up, event, and departure times stated in their booking confirmation.

Where early access or additional set-up time has been purchased or expressly included, access will be provided according to the applicable booking terms.

Guests must leave the party or private event area by the scheduled end time so that Happy Play House can prepare for subsequent bookings.

Additional time is subject to availability and may result in an overtime charge.

Late arrival does not automatically extend the scheduled booking period.

7. Outside Food & Decorations

Outside food, cake, decorations, and other items may be permitted depending on the package and any applicable add-on purchased.

Customers must follow Happy Play House instructions regarding food, decorations, installation, clean-up, and prohibited items.

Customers are responsible for informing their guests about food ingredients and managing any dietary restrictions or allergies within their group.

Happy Play House does not guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Alcohol is not permitted on the premises.

Decorations or equipment that may damage walls, floors, furniture, play equipment, or other property may not be used without prior approval.

8. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds

Cancellation, rescheduling, deposit, and refund conditions may vary depending on the service or package purchased.

Any cancellation or refund terms specifically displayed during checkout, included in the booking confirmation, or communicated as part of a particular package will form part of these Terms and will apply to that booking.

Deposits identified as non-refundable at the time of booking are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

Requests to change the date or time of a reservation are subject to availability and the applicable booking policy.

Failure to attend a booking without cancellation (“no-show”) may result in the loss of payments or deposits associated with that booking.

Happy Play House may cancel, modify, or reschedule a booking where reasonably necessary because of circumstances such as facility closures, safety concerns, emergencies, equipment failure, severe weather, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Where appropriate, we will work with the customer to provide a reasonable alternative, credit, rescheduling option, or refund, depending on the circumstances and applicable law.

9. Memberships

Memberships are subject to the specific benefits, duration, restrictions, and pricing stated at the time of purchase.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, memberships are for the registered member and may not be transferred, shared, exchanged, or resold.

Membership admission remains subject to operating hours, facility capacity, safety requirements, closures, and any applicable booking requirements.

Promotions, private events, special programs, merchandise, Slime Bar activities, Build-a-Stuffy products, birthday packages, food, and other add-ons are not included in a membership unless specifically stated.

10. Slime Bar

Participation in Slime Bar activities must follow staff instructions.

Children should be appropriately supervised while participating.

Slime materials, colours, decorations, accessories, and ingredients may vary depending on availability.

Some materials may stain clothing, fabrics, or personal belongings. Participants should wear appropriate clothing.

Customers are responsible for informing Happy Play House of known allergies or sensitivities before participating.

11. Build-a-Stuffy

Build-a-Stuffy products, clothing, accessories, sound recorders, and other options are subject to availability.

Actual products, colours, designs, sizes, and accessories may vary from photographs or examples shown online or in-store.

Certain accessories may contain small components and may not be suitable for very young children. Parents and guardians are responsible for determining whether a selected product or accessory is appropriate for their child.

12. Health & Illness

For the health and safety of our guests and staff, individuals who are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness should not enter the facility.

Happy Play House reserves the right to refuse or discontinue participation where a guest’s condition or behaviour reasonably appears to create a health or safety concern for that guest or others.

Parents and guardians are responsible for determining whether their child is physically able to participate safely in our activities.

13. Safety, Supervision & Assumption of Risk

Indoor play and children’s activities involve inherent risks, including slips, trips, falls, collisions, contact with equipment or other participants, and other accidental injuries.

Parents, guardians, and supervising adults are responsible for ensuring that children follow posted rules and staff instructions and use equipment appropriately.

Running or unsafe behaviour outside designated play areas, misuse of equipment, climbing on structures not intended for climbing, aggressive behaviour, or any activity that may endanger another guest is prohibited.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, participants and their parents or guardians acknowledge and accept the ordinary and inherent risks associated with participation in indoor play and recreational activities.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the laws of British Columbia.

14. Waivers

Certain activities, events, programs, or bookings may require a parent or legal guardian to complete a separate participation waiver, release, acknowledgment, or consent form.

Where a waiver is required, participation may be refused until the required form has been properly completed.

Any separate waiver forms part of the conditions applicable to participation in the relevant activity.

15. Personal Belongings

Guests are responsible for their own personal belongings.

Happy Play House is not responsible for lost, stolen, forgotten, or damaged personal items except to the extent responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

Any lost-and-found items may be retained for a limited period and may thereafter be donated or disposed of.

16. Damage to Property

Customers may be responsible for damage to Happy Play House property caused by intentional misconduct, misuse, or unreasonable behaviour by themselves or members of their party.

Reasonable repair or replacement costs may be charged where permitted by law.

17. Guest Conduct

We want Happy Play House to remain a safe and welcoming environment for children, families, guests, and staff.

Harassment, threats, abusive language, violence, bullying, deliberate property damage, dangerous behaviour, or repeated failure to follow reasonable staff instructions will not be tolerated.

Happy Play House reserves the right to require any individual to leave the premises where reasonably necessary to protect guests, employees, property, or the safe operation of the facility.

A refund may not be provided where removal results from serious or repeated violation of facility rules, subject to applicable law.

18. Photography & Video

Parents and guardians may take photographs or videos of their own children for personal use, provided they respect the privacy of other guests.

Customers should avoid intentionally photographing or recording other children without permission from their parent or guardian.

Happy Play House will not intentionally use identifiable photographs or videos of a child for advertising or promotional purposes without obtaining appropriate permission or consent where required.

Professional photography included in or purchased with a birthday or event package may be subject to additional terms.

19. Website Content

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information on our website is accurate and current. However, occasional errors or omissions may occur.

Photographs are for illustrative purposes and actual products, decorations, equipment, activities, colours, or arrangements may differ.

Happy Play House may update website content, operating hours, services, packages, prices, or these Terms from time to time.

20. Third-Party Services & Links

Our website may contain links to third-party services, including booking, payment, maps, social media, messaging, or other external platforms.

Those services are operated independently and may have their own terms and privacy practices.

Happy Play House is not responsible for the operation or content of third-party websites or platforms, except as required by applicable law.

21. Privacy

Personal information collected through our website, booking system, waiver forms, payment process, communications, or facility operations will be handled in accordance with our applicable Privacy Policy and Canadian privacy requirements.

Payment card information may be processed directly by third-party payment providers and may not be stored by Happy Play House.

22. Accessibility & Special Requirements

If a child or guest has accessibility needs or requires reasonable assistance to participate, please contact Happy Play House before your visit so we can discuss available options.

While we will make reasonable efforts to assist where possible, not every activity or piece of equipment may be suitable for every participant.

23. Facility Capacity & Availability

Admission and participation are subject to applicable occupancy limits, safety requirements, staffing, and operational capacity.

A reservation for a particular service does not permit customers to exceed applicable facility or activity capacity limits.

Happy Play House may temporarily restrict access to an area or activity when reasonably required for safety, maintenance, private bookings, or operational reasons.

24. Force Majeure

Happy Play House will not be responsible for delays, interruptions, or inability to provide services resulting from circumstances reasonably beyond our control, including severe weather, power or utility failures, government orders, emergencies, natural disasters, building closures, or other comparable events.

Where a booking is materially affected, we will handle rescheduling, credits, or refunds reasonably and in accordance with the applicable booking terms and law.

25. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Happy Play House will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the website, attendance at the facility, or participation in activities.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any statutory right, consumer protection, duty, or liability that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, or modified.

26. Changes to These Terms

Happy Play House may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, operations, policies, or legal requirements.

The version posted on our website at the time of a new booking or purchase will generally apply to that transaction, subject to any additional terms specifically provided with the booking.

27. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada.

Any dispute relating to these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
